NS Faze System

Nail Solutions 3 Phase System

A superb traditional 3 phase UV gel system. This system incorporates a bonder, builder and finisher. The builder in this system is not self-leveling and is ideal for those of you wanting total control of application and shape. The system can be used on natural nails, nail tips and for free form sculpting.

NS Faze 1

No need for primer, our bonder increases the adhesion of the product to the natural nail without harsh chemicals. This bonder is also compatible with out Calcium Gel range.

NS Faze 2

A lovely builder gel that allows ease of movement whilst sculpting and building shape. This builder does not self level, but it easily moves across the nail.

NS Faze 3

A UV finisher gel that adds the look of glass to your finished work. Use as a top coat gel and to seal the edges of the enhancement.

NS White Tip

A UV bright white gel for that French manicured look.

Life of Bulbs

  • You should change your bulbs regularly about 2-3 times a year. An old bulb will continue to work even though it is only giving out ¾ to ½ of its original energy.

  • UV strength can also be effected by dusty/dirty bulbs, so it is a good idea to dust them at least once a week.

Length of Cure

  • Always follow the manufactures recommended cure time and check that you have the correct time for the wattage of your lamp. The longer time spent under the light the better the cure and the stronger the enhancement. Never under cure, you will be putting your client at risk of over exposure.

Looking After Your Gel

  • If your gel comes in a clear container, make sure you keep it away from your UV light. Escaping rays will semi cure your pot. The suns UV rays can also cure your gel in the pot so please make sure you do not leave your gel on your work station if it is near a window.

Brushes

  • We like to work with flat brushes either nylon or sable.  Look after your brush it is precious. If you need to clean your brush use your gel wipe (Crystal Wipe)

For those of you who are new to Gel or those of you who have previously been using a soak of system we would like to briefly touch on removal procedures.

Checkpoint

Removing a full set

  • Cut down as normal and tidy the free edge.
  • Buff the gel off carefully. Never Buff down to the natural nail plate, always leave a very fine layer on. If you file past this you will cause trauma to the nail plate.
  • Shape as per normal.

   ***

So what are the benefits?

  • A soak off system will remove the entire product. The client has been wearing strong durable nails. With a soak of system she is left with her own natural nail strength and is bound to break them.
  • With a non soak off system she is more likely to cope without breaking them because there is a very thin layer of gel that aids strength left behind.
  • A Soak off system takes about 15-20 minutes for removal, where as buffing off the product literally only is just a matter of minutes.

  • You are no longer blending near the natural nail plate as you would do for a soak-off system. You are blending the nail tip on top of a very fine layer of gel. So no matter how many breaks occur the nail plate will be less traumatised than if using a soak off system.

Checkpoint

Repairing a broken nail

  • Shape the free-edge and buff down leaving a thin layer of gel and then using your nail preparation fluid (Absolute Nail Prep) cleanse and dehydrate.
  • Apply your nail tip as normal: cut, shape and blend. Prep your nail before primer/bonder & gel application.

Over Nail Tips

  • Step 1 - Prepare nails as usual for nail tip application
  • Step 2 - Remove the shine from the nail plate with a 240 grit block or sand turtle, cleanse and dehydrate the nail plate, apply tip and blend as normal .
  • Step 3 - Cleanse and dehydrate the nail plate to remove any excess dust particles, oils, moisture and bacteria.
  • Step 4 - Apply your NS Faze 1 (Bonder Gel). A thin layer is all that is required.  Work the bonder into the nail plate using circular motions (ensuring that the product does not touch the cuticle or side wall areas). Pull the gel down towards the free edge and seal the edges (encase the free edge with the bonder to seal). Set under a 9 watt UV Light for 2 minutes or under a 6 watt lamp for 3 minutes.

White Tip

  • If you wish to produce a permanent white (French Look), apply your NS White Tip to the smile line at this point. If you require a plain finish then ignore this step and go on to step 5.

Method 1

You can set down a small ball of gel on the left hand side of the smile line and tease it upwards to make a string/tail. Picking up the tail follow and tease it across the smile line and set it down on the right hand side of the nail plate. Remove your brush and observe – you should only have a very thin white line across the smile line.

Go back and gentle pull down the gel to give full coverage of the free edge using gentle floating strokes.

Method 2

Pick up enough gel to cover the free edge. Set the gel down just short of the smile line then slowly paint the free edge area being careful to follow the natural smile line of the nail.

Set your white tip for 2 minutes under a 9 watt lamp and 4 minutes under a 6 watt lamp

  • Step 5 - Do not remove the sticky residue. Using your NS Faze 2 (Builder Gel), apply a ball or Log of gel to the centre of the enhancement. Using floating circular motions work the builder up to the cuticle area and down the sides without touching the skin. Going back to the centre of your ball, slowly and gently float and pull down the gel without disturbing your apex area, and cover the free edge.  Make sure you seal the free edge with your gel by gently encasing it with your brush or an orange stick. Set for 2 minutes under a 9 watt lamp or 4 minutes under a 6 watt lamp.
  • Step 6 - Take a look at the shape of the nail. Have a perfect image in your mind as to how you would like to finish the nail for perfection.  Using a 180 or grit file refine the free edge only to create that perfect shape.
  • Step 7 - Once you have achieved the desired shape you will need to seal the finished nail with your NS FAZE 3 (Finisher). Before applying the NS Faze 3 (finisher) ensure that there is no shine by buffing with a white block. Gel will not adhere to a shinny surface.  Apply a thin layer of the finisher ensuring that you seal the free edge. Set under a 9 watt lamp for 2 minutes or 3 minutes if you are using a 6 watt lamp.

One Step UV Colour

As it says “One Step UV Colour”.  A range of 33 lovely gel polishes for that semi permanent polished look. One thin layer of colour is all that is needed to produce full density of colour. This range includes vibrants, pastels and a range of  “Barely There” colours.

An increased UV cure time of 3 minutes is required on a 9 watt lamp and 5 minutes if using a 6 watt lamp. Please notice cure times are higher to allow penetration of the UV rays through the pigment.
